RBCDC Receives a $10,000 COVID-19 Support Grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation

DECEMBER 23, 2020, RIVIERA BEACH, FLORIDA—In July, Wells Fargo made available $175 million to help businesses, communities and individuals throughout the country experiencing financial hardships as a result of COVID-19, and has earmarked $10,000 of that funding for the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation.

The Wells Fargo Foundation is currently focusing on supporting organizations that are strategically aligned with the financial institution’s funding priorities of housing affordability, small business growth and financial health. The Riviera Beach CDC has been awarded this grant, according to Patrick Morris of Wells Fargo Corporate Philanthropy and Community Relations, in the amount of $10,000 for COVID-19 general operating support. The Foundation’s generous funding will be used to further many initiatives currently underway including:

  •  Development of affordable homes
  • Home and community beautification
  • Business Training for local small businesses and entrepreneur
  • Homebuyers Club for financial counseling for first time buyers
  • Neighborhood cleanup events
  • Backyard Sow and Grow Garden for residents
  • Riviera Beach Community Garden fresh produce distribution and improvement
  • COVID-19 education, rent assistance, and small business assistance with local grants
  • Creation of a COVID-19 online information guide
  • Mobilization of the CRA team of Neighborhood Ambassadors
